Clicking noise

Hello,
The rotary dial causes a clicking noise during dialing. That happens right at the beginning of pulling back the rotary. I am wondering if this is a problem

no, the first clicking noise is not a problem. It is normal behaviour and based on the construction of the dial disc.

Historically, there were a lot of different mechanical solutions to constructing a dial disc with many different sounds (including solutions with the clicking noise at the start - similar to the one we use). So you may encounter all sorts of noises with different dial disc phones.
